Hi! I’m Kaitlin Young. I am a Hair and Makeup Artist in the Gunnison Valley. In the business, we call it HAMUA. My personal brand is kyoungdaymaker, because my goal in the life is to make days through my craft.

I grew up in Perry, OK, and went to college at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, as well as Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant. I later attended Cosmetology school at Clary Sage in Tulsa, OK. My HAMU goals are to be the one to call for all your beauty needs, no matter the time or place! I want people to feel and look their best in every situation… whether it’s a great cut for their no fuss lifestyle or full glam for a gala or once in a lifetime event. I am a real believer in natural beauty, and I think my hair and makeup style really reflects that. I specialize in makeup for natural lighting, not for heavy filters and Instagram lighting. I want you to feel like yourself when you look in the mirror. In 2021 I was voted “Best in the Butte” for all local stylists which is a huge honor from the community. I love all the things people come here for, especially skiing. At home I lived with my partner and little dog Hermit. I think the most important thing to mention is that I understand that although I am in love with my industry, I have a grasp on the fact that my work is not about me. It’s about making sure that you have a stress free day while feeling and looking your best!
